ETRU has removed most architectural barriers to ensure access to the historic buildings of Villa Giulia and Villa Poniatowski, as well as to the sites within the Veio Archaeological Park, and to ensure that the public can enjoy the historical, artistic, and archaeological heritage.
Access to certain rooms is provided for people with mobility impairments through alternative routes, elevators, and stairlifts (which are not yet certified for motorized wheelchairs).
VILLA GIULIA
There are three elevators along the museum route at Villa Giulia that connect the ground floor to the first floor, while two stairlifts provide access from the first floor to the main floor of the historic building.
The basement rooms housing the tombs from Tarquinia and Cerveteri are equipped with a stairlift.
A stairlift also provides access to the mezzanine level of the Nymphaeum at Villa Giulia.
VILLA PONIATOWSKI
The tour itinerary of Villa Poniatowski includes ramps that provide access to the gardens. An elevator provides access to the exhibition spaces on the mezzanine and main floors of the Villa.
VEIO ARCHAEOLOGICAL PARK
The tour route through the Archaeological Park is accessible to people in wheelchairs via ramps and walkways.
Reception and tour staff are available to show visitors the routes and provide assistance with the use of stairlifts.
A wheelchair is available upon request at the Villa Giulia site.
