Chi (Ri)cerca Trova. M. Gnade. Sulle orme di Raniero Mengarelli. Le ricerche olandesi a Satricum

Per il ciclo Chi (Ri)cerca Trova 2026, Marjike Gnade ci ha illustrato le origini degli scavi di Satricum, importante sito archeologico del Lazio Meridionale.

Grazie alle scoperte di Raniero Mengarelli nell'antico Satricum tra il 1896 e il 1898 e successivamente tra il 1907 e il 1910, è stata riportata alla luce gran parte del sito archeologico. Situato a un punto di incontro tra le vie di comunicazione nord-sud e tra la costa e l'entroterra, Satricum costituisce un importante anello di congiunzione tra queste aree, il che si manifesta nel suo ricco patrimonio archeologico. Nel 1977, la ricerca archeologica a Satricum, caduta nell’oblio dopo Mengarelli, fu ripresa da archeologi olandesi su invito del Comitato per l’archeologia laziale. Nella conferenza sono stati presentati i risultati più importanti delle recenti ricerche, sempre in relazione alle scoperte di Raniero Mengarelli.
